A moving sky needs a natal address
A transit becomes personal only when it is compared with a natal chart. Jyotish counts the current grahas from both your lagna and your Moon.
For Saturn, a reading asks which houses it occupies from those two points, whether it aspects or joins a natal graha, and whether a related dasha is running. A general transit column can name Saturn's current sign, but it cannot show which part of your life that sign represents.
Slow grahas and fast ones
Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu are watched closely because they stay long enough to change a chapter. Saturn in a house for two and a half years is a season of work or delay in that part of life.
Jupiter in a house for a year can open or overpromise, depending on the kundli. Rahu and Ketu move as a pair, always opposite, and they spend about a year and a half in a sign. Mars and the inner grahas move faster and colour shorter weeks. A reading that treats every transit as equal has not learned the pace of the sky.
Two clocks, one life
When you ask what this period is asking, the reading looks at the dasha that is running and the gochara that is touching your kundli.
Dasha is the inner clock, counted from the natal Moon's nakshatra. Gochara is the outer clock, the sky this month. A hard transit in a gentle dasha is one story. A hard transit in a hard dasha is another. Timing in Jyotish is those two clocks together. Neither one is a fortune. Together they name the season you are in.

A transit reading compares the current sky with your sidereal birth chart and the dasha already running. This helps explain why the same transit may concern work for one person and home or partnership for another.
